Selfless

Putting others on the team ahead of themselves.

Be Generous – Constantly giving to others develops trust and unites the team.

Avoid Internal Politics – When you care about the team more than yourself you stop doing things behind the scenes to make yourself look good.

Display Loyalty – Put yourself at risk for the sake of the team goal.

Value Interdependence over Independence – Make sure the others know you need them and believe in them.

Examples of selfless teammates:

When interviewed by the newspaper you talk about how well your teammates did.
You make a habit of letting others go first.
You always step up to roll out mats, clean the mats, help carry things, etc.
Give to your teammates in a way so they don’t find out who helped them.
You spend time showing moves to young wrestlers.
You volunteer to help with the youth program.
You take risks going for the pin when coach asks you to.
You are actively helping and supporting your team at tournaments even when you aren’t wrestling.
